Jamie Foxx was rushed to hospital with a medical emergency following an unspecified incident on Tuesday, according to reports.
The Django Unchained star’s family have confirmed that he is now making a recovery having been treated with “great care”.
The Oscar winning actor’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, thanked fans for their support and well-wishes in a statement.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Corinne wrote in a post on Instagram.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.
“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Though Foxx himself has not yet spoken on the matter and his family did not provide further details as to how he ended up hospitalized, TMZ say the incident was a medical emergency.
The US-based news site said: “We’re told his condition was serious enough that Jamie’s family – some of whom were not in town – came to the hospital. One source told us, ‘He’s communicating now, and that’s good news’.”
Foxx was last snapped by paparazzi just two days ago as he films for his latest movie, Back In Action, in Atlanta.
The 55-year-old won an Oscar in 2004 for his portrayal of blind singer Ray Charles in Ray, and has seen his career go from strength to strength. The Texas-born star has also appeared in flicks such as Jarhead, Django Unchained, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
His upcoming movie will see him reunited with Cameron Diaz, who hasn’t appeared in a film since 2014’s Annie. That flick saw her also working with Foxx, who’s said to have been the driving force behind her return to the screen.
I don’t know about you, but I’m happy Foxx is on the mend after the health scare earlier this week.
