David Beckham has quite a stir on social media following his recent upload with his youngest child. The soccer star is a proud father of four and has expressed how much his family means to him.
On September 29, 2023, 48-year-old David shared a video on his Instagram page showing his young daughter Harper putting makeup on him.
The father-and-daughter duo could be seen singing along to one of Taylor Swift’s songs as the preteen worked her magic on her parent’s face, ending the session with a setting spray.
Afterward, the proud dad asked his child to kiss him on the lips, which she did. He captioned the post, “My little makeup artist is good & has a great playlist @taylorswift… We are on our way, mommy @victoriabeckham.”
The gesture between David and Harper left his Instagram followers at odds as they debated whether kissing his daughter on the lips was okay.
One user commented, “Beautiful daddy-daughter moment, but a kiss on the lips doesn’t look right. She is a young lady now, not a toddler.” “No lips kiss father and daughter,” said another follower.
One social media user posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), writing, “It’s not that David Beckham kisses his daughter on the lips … it’s that he films it and posts it on the internet for millions of people to see.”
Although some disapproved of how David expresses his love for his daughter, other online users supported that and made it known in the comments section.
“Well, I’m 29…still kissing my dad on the lips when saying goodbye,” wrote one person. Meanwhile, two other Instagram users questioned the first follower, who said it “doesn’t look right.”
Someone asked, “@annieraffle why doesn’t it look right?” While another stated, “@annieraffle I kiss my dad on the lips still on my 40s, he was so amazing and cool and young at heart, his death I’ll give my life for another little kiss.”

Despite the online controversy, David has spoken heartwarmingly about being a parent in a June 2023 Instagram post on Father’s Day. He posted several images of him and his family and wrote:
“My biggest success & biggest love is my family. Thank you firstly to Mommy for making Daddy a dad ( I know, kids, sorry) and secondly dad really loves you all more than you can imagine.”
David and his wife, Victoria Beckham, share four children: three sons and one daughter. Their eldest child, Brooklyn, 24, was born in March 1999, followed by their second oldest son, Romeo, 21, in September 2002.
The former Spice Girl star and the co-owner of the Inter Miami had their third child, son Cruz, 18, in February 2005. Their youngest child and only daughter, Harper, arrived in July 2011.
The youngster celebrated her 12th birthday with her loved ones a few months ago, in July 2023. Proud mom Victoria marked her daughter’s milestone by sharing a carousel of images from the birthday celebration on Instagram, including one shot of the mother and daughter duo posing together in long dresses.
The Beckham family celebrated Harper’s birthday a few days earlier as the fashion designer captioned her post, “Harper Seven is 12!! (almost).” The family spent the Harper’s special day at the Prada Caffè in Harrods department store in London.
They had a family dinner as Victoria shared photos from inside the establishment, with the birthday girl posing alongside her father and big brother Cruz.
In a July 2022 interview, Victoria revealed her daughter is not on social media when addressing body-shaming online – saying she and her husband do not have to worry about that yet.
However, the singer admitted that witnessing how awful people can be online was concerning. Victoria mentioned that Harper is at an age where she is going through body changes, something she highlighted they would discuss as a family and ensuring she surrounds herself with “nice friends,” said the doting mom.
