When Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise married in 1990 after meeting on the set of movie Days of Thunder they instantly became Hollywood’s Golden couple.
Two years later the couple adopted daughter, Isabella Jane and then three years later son Connor Antony.
When Hawaii-born Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise married in 1990 after meeting on the set of the movie Days of Thunder, they instantly became Hollywood’s golden couple.
Back then, Cruise was indisputably the biggest star of the two. It was also the Top Gun actor who made sure that they became a couple. Cruise noted Kidman’s acting talent when she starred in 1989 flick Dead Calm. After that, Tom persuaded the producers of Days of Thunder to make Kidman his counterpart and love interest in that movie.
It seemed like a match made in heaven for this A-lister couple but sadly the union didn’t last and Tom Cruise filed for divorce 11 years later citing irreconciable differences
Kidman wanted to have children with Cruise right after the wedding, and it seemed like her dreams were set to come true faster than many expected.
Sadly, however, she suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 1990 at the age of 23. Cruise and Nicole couple lost their baby. After that, they decided to look at other options.
They adopted two children in daughter Isabella Jane Cruise (born 1992) and son Connor Cruise (born 1995), both when they were only months old.
Their children are now 30 and 28 years old and are successful in their own right, something they’ve done largely out of the public eye.
When Isabella was born on December 22, Tom and Nicole were nearby. In fact, they got to hold her the same day she came to the world.
”I look into those eyes and that crazy love happens — it’s crazy love because you’ll do anything when you have a child. It opens up a part of your heart you didn’t even know was there,” Kidman told The Independent.
Today, Bella works as an artist and hairdresser. She lives in London with her British husband Max Parker. To some extent, she has kept a low profile over the years – but at the same time, she is very active on social media.
Her Instagram page, which has over 50,000 followers is filled with her artwork but and in 2020, she delighted fans with a rare selfie.
Wearing a black hat covering her dark hair her post was accompanied with the words: “All that glitters is gold.. oh wait, it’s just another Instagram filter.”
Bella shared another selfie which showed her in the kitchen with her hand on her head, alongside the words: “the procrastination station.”
Bella, who uses her dad and mom’s second name on her Instagram account, is a scientologist along with her brother and dad Tom Cruise.
Speaking to Who magazine, she said: “They (her children) are adults. They are able to make their own decisions,” she told Australia’s Who.
“They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” Kidman said and added that she ”utterly respect” her children’s beliefs.
Rumors persist in claiming that it was exactly this difference in faith and opinion which drove Kidman away from Tom back in 2001. When Tom Cruise and Nicole divorced, Bella and Connor decided to live with their father.
”I’d love them to live with us [her and Keith Urban], but what can you do?”, Kidman said.
Some might have thought Bella would follow in her famous father’s footsteps, pursuing an acting career. But the 30-year-old lady has gone her own way and seems more interested in fashion, just like her step-mom Katie Holmes. That was also why she moved to London to study at the Sassoon Academy, a cosmetology school. She now works as a hairdresser.
In March, she posted another selfie of herself, which rarely happens. You can see her new hairstyle and striking new look in the picture. Some of her fans thought Bella looked much like her father – even though they are biologically related.
One fan even claimed that Bella “even had the same dents in her nose” and “smile lines” as her famous dad. What do you think?
